"Attack on Titan" season 2 has been confirmed to be returning on Feb. 2016 in Japan televisions and online. With the release barely weeks away, plot rumours are now coming out on what people can expect from the new season.

According to Crossmap, "Attack on Titan" season 2 will introduce some new titans including an intelligent ape-like titan unlike any fans have seen before. Rumours indicate that the new titan will actually be able to talk and will be the smartest titan that the show's protagonists will be facing.

The "Attack on Titan" television series is a Japanese action show based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. The show has received mostly positive reviews from anime fans, with IMDB recording a rating of 8.9 out of 10 based on scores given by 54,669 users.

The series follows the adventures of Eren Yeager, his foster sister, Mikasa Ackerman, and their childhood friend, Armin Arlert, who live in a post-Apocalyptic world that has been overtaken by giant humanoid beings called Titans. The three cadets are residents of a walled city that is protected by three large barricades- Wall Maria, Wall Rose and Wall Sheena- which were broken down by a 200-foot tall titan.

Reports, however, indicate that Season 2 of the series will not be faithful to the original manga storyline, and may vary from time to time. Some titans from season 1 will also be returning in the upcoming season, and it will be revealed that the Colossal Titan is Bertolt Hoover and the Armoured Titan is Reiner Braun.

No specific premiere date has been given for "Attack on Titan" season 2, but fans are speculating that it will open at the same time the "Attack on Titan" video game by Koie Tecmo will be released. The game is set to come out on Feb. 18, 2016 for PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
