6 Beautiful Bible Verses For New Or Expecting Moms

There are many callings that are noble and God-ordained. We may emphasize a vocational calling - the calling to be a pastor, a businessman, an executive and so on. But there are also callings that have little to do with vocational and economic advances. One of those callings is that of a mother.

Becoming a mother, or becoming a parent in general, can be one of God's most wonderful gifts. That's not to say that it's going to be easy. After four years of being a father to one, I know the challenge of raising a child (imagine having more than one!). But God has been gracious in supplying wisdom and strength to do so, and many times parenting has been more of a privilege than a chore.

God has a special place in His heart for children not only because they're cute or adorable, but because they are the future of everything we see. Fifty years from now, the whole world will rest on the actions and decisions of our children. That's an intimidating thought to take in, but also an honoring one to consider that God has entrusted mothers with the role of carrying the future in their arms.

Here are six scriptures for new and expecting mothers to meditate on to grow in the realization of the blessing that is children and the plans the Lord has for them.

Deuteronomy 7:9 "Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations." (Pexels)
