"UFC 3," the next installment of mixed martial arts fighting video game series, is only a few months away. Game publisher EA Sports has revealed that the upcoming title's cover athlete would be none other than Connor McGregor, one of the most popular Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighters today.

McGregor is currently the UFC's Lightweight champion. He is the only UFC athlete to hold two championship titles in different weight classes at the same time. To mirror this, the game will be releasing two covers, one of which shows McGregor holding the two championship belts he held in 2016.

The Irish fighter is also known for the fastest knockout in a title fight in the history of the UFC, when he defeated Jose Aldo via knockout by only 13 seconds into the first round of their title bout in 2015.

With the arrival of "UFC 3," players will be introduced to an improved game with brand new features. The upcoming game will include a career mode for the first time, where players will be able to forge their own path in the mixed martial arts scene.

The mode is called the G.O.A.T. career mode. Here, players will be able to make choices that would impact their career in the UFC. Players will also be responsible for promoting their fights, gaining fans, and dealing with their enemies inside and outside the octagon.

"UFC 3" will also introduce the new animation system called Real Player Motion. EA Sports is implementing this system in order to make fighting movements more fluid and responsive, thus making it more realistic.

Knockout Mode, the popular multiplayer system from "UFC 2" is also making a comeback in the upcoming title. This mode provides players a number of different ways to compete with their friends, like Stand and Bang, Fight Now Custom, and Submission Showdown.

"UFC 3" is set to be released on Feb.2 and will be the first major sports title to be released in 2018.
