The Transformers 4 trailer has been released during the 2014 Super Bowl games on Feb. 2, 2014.

The Transformers 4 trailer was among the highly anticipated commercials to be released during tonight's Super Bowl game at the Metlife Stadium in New Jersey.

Fans have been waiting for the Transformers 4 trailer to debut and many tuned into Fox television tonight not just to watch the games, but to watch the Super Bowl commercials, which cost an average $4 million for a 30-second slot.

The Transformers 4: Age of Extinction film is set to release soon. Tonight's trailer featured a new robot, Grimlock. Fans also got to see the newly designed Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.

Director Michael Bay also teased fans about the upcoming trailer, and hinted that another surprise is in store during tonight's Super Bowl.

Bay tweeted an image that read: "Be sure to check the Official Michael Bay Instagram account during the Super Bowl for a special surprise."

Transformers 4 stars will be hitting theaters on June 27, 2014. The new film stars Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager, Nicola Peltz as Tessa Yeager, Jand ack Reynor as Shane.

Other movie trailers confirmed for the 2014 Super Bowl is Captain America: The Winter Soldier , Need for Speed, the Amazing Spiderman 2, and Muppets Most Wanted.

Last year, 108 million viewers tuned into watch the Super Bowl, which featured Beyonce's halftime performance show. Tonight's epic game between the Seattle Seawhawks and the Denver Broncos is expected to draw an even bigger audience.
