Transformers 4 Age of Extinction new trailer: Mark Wahlberg reveals new title, Transformers: Lost Age

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction isn't due out until later this year, but promotion for the upcoming film continues, with actor Mark Wahlberg revealing the latest trailer to Japanese fans.

In an introduction to the latest trailer, the actor says, "Go check out my latest film Transformers: Lost Age, it has tons of action, new characters and its full of effects that you've never seen before, it opens in Japan in August, don't miss it."

The trailer is not anything exclusive for Japanese fans– it is the same trailer that has been shown internationally, except with Japanese subtitles.

In the trailer, Mark Wahlberg, who stars as Cade Yeager, is shown hauling an old truck, while his daughter complains about her dad "buying junk." He begins work on the truck, but realizes the metal is not normal, before admitting, "I think we just found a Transformer."

The old truck is in fact Optimus Prime in disguise.

Actor Peter Cullen, who has been the voice of Optimus Prime since the 1980's cartoon, has voiced Optimus Prime in the new film, and will continue to do so throughout the next series of films.

Cullen spoke of the character to USA Today: "He is exactly who he was from the very original concept. I've always felt a hero should have the qualities that are inspiring and helpful and fatherly and at the same time (be) courageous. I don't see those character traits changing at all."

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction will hit theaters June 27, 2014.
