'Super Mario' news: Nintendo and Kellogg's bring new Super Mario-themed cereal

Nintendo and Kellogg's have worked together to bring the new Super Mario Cereal to the breakfast table. The cereal is introduced to promote Nintendo's new platform video game "Super Mario Odyssey." It was also revealed that the cereal is an amiibo.

The cereal was first reported by Cerealously, and the article includes a picture of the cereal box's front design. It was also revelead in the report that the cereal is star-shaped with marshmallows inspired by "Super Mario."

Nintendo and Kellogg's have not released an official announcement or introduction for the cereal product. However, Kellog's UK & IRE Twitter account confirmed the cereal being distributed only in the United States. One user from the United Kingdom asked the account if the product is available in the UK. The Kellogg's account replied with, "We can confirm this product is being released in the US but not currently in the UK. We will pass your feedback on! Thanks."

A photo of the back of the cereal box was posted on Reddit showing the Amiibo function of the cereal. According to the description at the back of the cereal, all Super Mario Cereal products are amibbo. The description reads, "Every Super Mario Cereal box is an amiibo you can use to unlock special content to power your Super Mario Odyssey adventure."

Several fans of the video game applauded the cereal for its amiibo function.

A few video game publications commended Nintendo and Kellogg's for the Super Mario Cereal. 

Nintendo and Kellogg's are yet to release an official announcement or advertisement for the Super Mario Cereal.

"Super Mario Odyssey" is one of the most successful video game releases in 2017. The video game was released on Oct. 27 and it received a perfect score of 10 from IGN.
