Samsung to launch Galaxy S9 next month in the midst of the Mobile World Congress

It is official -- Samsung will finally launch one of its biggest smartphone products ever, the Galaxy S9. The smartphone will be unveiled during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) next month.

According to reports, Samsung's mobile business president, Dong-Jin Koh or Dj Koh, told Korean media during the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas that the S9 will be launched during the trade show of the MWC in February. The product is then speculated to hit stores in March.

Initial reports indicated that the official launch will go down during the CES event. Samsung, however, made use of the event to announce the awaited launch. The S9 plus was rumored to be launched with the S9, but Samsung is yet to provide further details about S9's big brother.

The Galaxy S9 is included in a number of most-anticipated smartphones of 2018 lists by a number of publications. Specifications for the Galaxy S9 have already started making headlines back in 2017. The product is said to be operational with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 proccesor, 5.65-inch QHD + a Super AMOLED display, and either a 4 or 6 GB RAM.

The S9 is also reported to be the first smartphone to support a 512 GB of next-generation Universal Flash Storage or eUFS. Consumers will finally gain confirmation from Samsung about the smartphone's specifications and if the reports are indeed accurate.

S9's predecessor, the Galaxy S8, was well received by consumers and technological experts when it was released in 2017. The S8 smartphone got a perfect score of 10 from TrustedReviews, and an impressive rating of 4.5 star from TechRadar. The Biometric feature of the S8 received a few backlash, but the phone's other features, such as battery life, performance, camera, and display, were all applauded.
