Prince George birth certificate PHOTO: Kate Middleton named as Princess of the United Kingdom

The birth of Prince George has officially been registered and was given a birth certificate like all others born in Britain.

Prince George's birth was registered by father Prince William at Kensington Palce in front of a Registrar from the Westminster Register Office early Friday morning.

The birth certificate was only signed by Prince William, as only one parent's signature is required to register the birth. The future King signed the certificate simply as "William." He referred to his wife Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cabridge, as "Princess of the United Kingdom" when filling out her job description. He signed his own job as "Prince of the United Kingdom."

Kate, 31, was named as "Catherine Elizabeth" and "Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge."

Prince William put his address as Kensington Palace, London W8 4PU.

Prince George's official name is H.R.H. Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge. He was born on July 22, at the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital.

"It's very special," Prince William said to reporters, speaking for the first time after the birth of his son.

The Duchess told reporters: "It's such a special time. I think any parent will know what this feeling feels like."

Prince William also said, "I'll remind him of his tardiness when he's a bit older." He told reporters, "I know how long you've all been standing here so hopefully the hospital and you guys can all go back to normal now and we can go and look after him."

The royal baby will become third in line to the throne, replacing Prince Harry, to become the future King of Britain.
