Niantic Labs is locked-and-loaded to release two if its augmented reality (AR) application games this year. With "Harry Potter: Wizards Unite" and "Ingress Prime" coming out, Niantic's first massive AR title "Pokemon GO" will not be left behind.

The Pokemon Company International or TPCI is gearing up to release a number of Legendary Pokemon events for various Pokemon video game titles, especially for "Pokemon GO." The company called the milestone "Year of Legendary Pokemon" and will be accomplished as a thank you to loyal Pokemon players and fans.

TPCI's Senior Director of Consumer Marketing J.C. Smith said, "As a thank-you to all the Trainers out there who have been so committed and passionate about Pokemon over the years, we want to make 2018 a legendary year."

"Pokemon GO" players are currently keeping themselves busy with the Legendary water-type Pokemon Kyogre. Trainers now have something to look forward to with TPCI announcing that the celebration reaches the AR application game. According to the press release by TPCI, "Pokemon GO players can also expect to see special promotions featuring Legendary Pokemon in 2018 as part of this legendary year celebration, with details being released soon."

The celebration kicks off in February for "Pokemon Ultra Sun," "Pokemon Ultra Moon," "Pokemon Sun," and "Pokemon Moon" players. Other Pokemon game titles, like "Pokemon TCG" and "Pokemon Shuffle," are also part of the long celebration.

The logo of the celebration is composed of the phrase "Pokemon Legendary" with a master ball. The master ball is a Poke Ball capable of capturing all Pokemon including legendaries without fail.

"Pokemon GO" trainers are now waiting for further announcements on what is coming to the AR application game.

"Pokemon GO" is still one of the most-played AR video games worldwide with a 7 out of 10 score from IGN and and 6.3 from GameSpot.
