Fans of the popular augmented reality game "Pokemon Go" have been waiting for the arrival of the third generation monsters for some time now, and it looks like its release is only a couple of weeks away. Based on new information datamined from the game's latest patch, the game is gearing up to unveil the Generation III Pokemon for its upcoming Halloween event.

The "Pokemon Go" community datamined the latest update of the game and unearthed a brand new Halloween themed wallpaper, which features several Pokemon from the third generation of the Pokemon console games.

The Generation III monsters featured in the wallpaper include Sableye, Duskull and its evolution Dusclops, as well as Shuppet and its evolution Bannette. Joining them in the artwork are some Pokemon that are already available in the game, like Caterpie, Gengar, Zubat, and Murkrow.

The audio has also been updated to include those of Generation III Pokemon. A new badge is also included in the patch.

For its Halloween event, new in-game music has been added. This includes the iconic Lavender Town theme from the "Pokemon Ruby" and "Sapphire" role-playing game (RPG) versions.

The third generation of Pokemon is popular for many well-designed original Pokemon, like Rayquaza, Blaziken, Sceptile, Swampert, Milotic, Flygon, and Gardevoir. "Pokemon Go" players will surely work double time to include these Pokemon to their collection once the batch gets released.

When the second generation was introduced into the game, it had a soft launch where the baby Pokemon were made available before the rest of the batch.

It is possible that players may see the same pattern with Generation III, with the Halloween-themed Pokemon being released first. This will also serve as a hype-generator before the rest of the Generation III Pokemon arrives during a standalone event.

Niantic has not released any official announcements regarding the third generation Pokemon. Yet, with only two weeks before Halloween, fans of "Pokemon Go" will not have to wait that much longer to find out.
