Motorola X phone event LIVE [Start time]: How to get live Twitter updates, photos for Moto X launch

The Motorola's Moto X event start time will be at 3 pm ET/ 12 pm PT. Motorola's flagship phone is scheduled to launch in New York City. The event will be a closed press event, meaning that there will be no live streaming. However, Motorola will be tweeting details and photos of its latest smartphone live on its Twitter account.

The company tweeted this message last night: "That's it. No more tix to our #MeetMotoX launch event. We'll be live-tweeting and posting pics tomorrow. Stay tuned."

The Moto X will be the first phone launched by Google after acquired Motorola last year.

Latest leaked photos of the smartphone shows that the Moto X will be encased in a new type of glass- the Magic glass, which is a sheet of Gorilla Glass that molds into a polymer that covers the front and edges of the screen. There will be no gap between the back panel as the glass will wrap around all the edges of the device.

The phone will be customizable in various ways, with rumors suggesting that the phone can be made of plastic, metal, wood, carbon fiber, and even ceramics. It may also be customizable e in over a dozen colors.

The mid-range smartphone will feature a 4.5 inch HD 720p display with 720x1184 resolution, a dual-core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm S4 Pro Processor with Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB Ram, 16 GB storage, 10 mp Clear Pixel rear camera with HDR mode, 2.1 mp front-facing camera. It will also feature a 2200mAh battery.

The phone is also expected to be running on the latest updated Android Jelly Bean 4.3, released July 24.

Rumored prices for the device, which will launch on all major U.S. carriers – AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile - is $299 for a 16G model and $349 for 32G. Verizon is rumored to start selling the phone from August 23.

The Moto X phones are being manufactured at a plant in Fort Worth, Texas. It will be the first American smartphone to be designed, engineered and manufactured on U.S. soil.
