Moto X (2nd Gen) vs. Moto X Style specs: What do the new handsets bring?

Last month in London, Motorola Mobility released the new successor to its Moto X smartphone, the Moto X (2nd Gen), in September last year. In the same month of this year, the company is planning to release the Moto X Style, according to recent reports.

The Moto X Style has been unveiled, alongside other products the Moto X Play and Moto G (3rd Gen) models.

Here is the difference between the upcoming Moto X (2nd Gen) and Moto X Style in terms of the specifications.

The Moto X (2nd Gen) model is known to sport a 5.2-inch AMOLED display screen with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has a powerful 13-megapixel camera on the back and a 2-megapixel camera on the front.

On the other hand, the Moto X Style is expected to feature a larger 5.7-inch display screen with a higher 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. In terms of the size and quality, this phone is almost similar to Samsung's Galaxy Note 4. Also, the new phone is expected to have a very powerful 21-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

Under the hood, the Moto X (2nd Gen) has a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, a 2GB RAM, and up to 64GB built-in memory storage. Meanwhile, the Moto X Style will run on a Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 processor and will feature an upgraded 3GB RAM and up to 64GB internal memory.

The Moto X (2nd Gen) also has a 2,300 mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0, allowing the phone to charge up to 60 percent in 30 minutes. Reports say the upcoming device will come with a much larger 3,000 mAh battery along with fast battery charging feature as well. The Moto X Style can be charged up to 34 percent in just 15 minutes, according to GSM Arena.
