In terms of the specs and features, what does the new successor offer?

According to a recent report by Android Police, the LG G Pad 2 sports an 8.0-inch display screen and comes with a thin Stylus and a USB port connection, which is found at the bottom of the tablet. The LG G Pad, on the other hand, sports a slightly larger 8.3-inch IPS LCD display screen with a 1200 x 1920 pixel resolution.

As a new midrange tablet, the LG G Pad 2 comes with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and runs on the new Android 5.0 version Lollipop operating system (OS). It has a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The original LG G Pad was released with a lower 5-megapixel camera quality on the back and with only 1.3-megapixel camera on the front.

Under the hood, the G Pad comes with Qualcomm's APQ8064 Pro Snapdragon 600 processor, a 2GB RAM, and an expandable 16GB built-in memory storage. For this tablet, the internal memory can be expanded up to 64GB, according to GSM Arena.

The G Pad 2 now packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, a smaller 1.5GB RAM, up to 32GB internal memory and a massive 4,200 mAh battery. The previous model came with an even bigger 4,600 mAh battery.

According to reports, it's still unclear whether LG is planning to release the new LG G Pad 2 tablet outside of its homeland anytime soon. Android Central recently reported that if ever this new tablet will make its way out to other markets around the world, it might come with better and improved specs.
