History channel's historical fiction drama series "Knightfall" will resume next year on Jan. 3, 2018. The Knights Templar will be put to the test on the next episode.

History released four episodes so far for its newest television series that tells the story of the Knights Templar and their grand search for the Holy Grail until their demise on Oct. 13, 1307.

The next episode, titled "Hard Blows Will Banish Sin," will air on Jan. 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. EST on History. The episode will focus on the rising tension across the place in the midst of Princess Isabella's (Sabrina Bartlett) wedding preparations. King Philip (Ed Stoppard) will order Landry (Tom Cullen) and the rest of the Knights Templar to guard the palace for a possible attack from their enemies.

In the previous episode, King Philip feared that a war will ignite with England refusing to open their hearts and accept Prince Lluis of Catalonia (Marcos Franz). There is no further information from History nor the show's producers if the next episode will shed more light on who betrayed Isabella. Isabella will discover who betrayed her in the sixth episode to be released on Jan. 10, 2018.

Landry will also face a painful ordeal on his own in the sixth episode after being kidnapped by an unknown group.

The most recent episode of the series received fairly good reviews from fans and critics. Den of Geek gave episode 4, "He Who Discovers His Own Self, Discovers God," a score of 4 out of 5 star.

The series "Knightfall" is doing pretty good in terms of ratings from movie experts. The series got a 60 percent score rating from Rotten Tomatoes, and 6.3 out of 10 score from IMDb. The pilot episode of the series generated 1.77 million viewers according to Show Buzz Daily. The series is looking for a comeback with the number of viewers from episode 1 to 4 decreasing.
