Kim Kardashian and Kanye West news: K and K reveal reason behind third baby's name

The internet went crazy over Kim Kardashian's announcement about baby number three with husband and rapper Kanye West. And just when netizens have been anxious for new information about Kim and Kanye's baby girl, the couple revealed their baby's name.

Chicago West, 71 lbs 6 oz was born at 12:47 a.m. on Jan. 15. Even before people start pronouncing the name wrong, Kim made it clear that the "Chi" is not pronounced Chi but rather "Shy." People were first baffled with the couple's choice of name, especially for a little girl.

There were a lot of questions and others even poked fun on the idea of the name. It was then revealed that the reason for naming the baby girl Chicago is a tribute to Kanye's late mother, Donda West. Donda raised Kanye in Chicago as a single mother after parting ways with Kanye's father.

Kim and Kanye then took the opportunity to pay tribute to the strong woman who met her maker in 2007 after suffering complications due to cosmetic surgery. Many people and publications were taken by surprise about the real reason behind the name Chicago.

With the name already revealed, fans of the couple are waiting for a glimpse of baby Chicago to see if she takes after Kim or Kanye. The star-studded couple are the first to welcome a new bundle-of-joy to the Kardashian family this year. Pretty soon, Chicago will be joined by new babies from Kim's sisters, Khloe and Kylie Jenner, with the latter not yet confirming it publicly.

Amid the latest milestone, Kim and Kanye took some time to celebrate. Kanye threw a private screening for the recently released movie "Honor Up" in Calabasas. Few celebrities and rappers attended the celebration including Pusha T, A-Trak, Terrence J, and more.
