Over the last few weeks, rumors of two brand new HTC U devices have been making rounds on the internet. The company looks set to reveal these new devices as local media in Taiwan have received invitations to a November event which will focus on the U phone series.

The event is scheduled on Nov. 2, and while it did not provide specific information about whether new devices will be launched during the event, the invitation included a large "U" on the top portion. This suggests that something is brewing for the phone series that brought the popular U11.

Two new phones are reportedly up for launch in the upcoming event. The first is the U11 Life, a midrange phone design for the Android One line. The phone is a trimmed down version of the U11 and will include a 5.2-inch screen, a Snapdragon 30 chip, a 16-megapixel camera on both the front and rear.

The U11 Life would come in two variants, one with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage, and another with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. The price of the phone is estimated to range around $400.

The other phone that could be launched in November is the U11 Plus, as the name suggests, is an upgraded version of the U11. The U11 Plus is bigger, with a nearly 6-inch display and a 2880 by 1440 resolution with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone sports a 12 megapixel camera at the back, and is powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor.

Just like the U11 Life, the Plus model comes in two variations, a 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage version; and a 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage model. The upcoming phone is a lot like the recently released Google Pixel 2 XL, except it is running HTC's Sense user interface.
