One of the longest-running dramas on television, "Grey's Anatomy," has completed the first half of its season and is taking a nice long holiday break. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and the crew will not be returning until the latter part of January. While the break seems quite long, the show has definitely earned it, given that it is already running on its 14th season.

The last episode of the year for "Grey's Anatomy" already aired on Nov. 16, right before Thanksgiving. While most shows take a one week break to allow its cast and crew to celebrate Thanksgiving with their families, a week's break is most certainly not enough for a huge show like "Grey's Anatomy."

Now running on its 14th season, it is an understatement to say that the series has earned a vacation for the holidays. That's why instead of a one week break like many other show, "Grey's Anatomy" is going on a break for not one, but two months.

The next episode will be airing on Jan. 18, which is a full two months since its last episode. Back in November, fans would remember that the hospital's cyber security was compromised when a hacker attacked its computer system. The attack caused all phones, monitors and a number of equipment to go down. It also caused laboratory and patient records to be offline.

The episode showed how the hospital crew tried to get creative in continuing to deliver life-saving treatments despite being figuratively maimed by the cyber-attack.

In the upcoming episode, it is expected that viewers will get to see the results of the investigation on the attack as well as the results of the team's effort.

The second half of the season is also expected to explore the relationship between Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) and Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary). The two are now step-siblings, but it's starting to become apparent that they have budding feelings for one another.
