Netflix recently released its newest original television series "Godless." The first season of the series received great reviews and ratings from critics. The cast of the series includes big names like Jeff Daniels, Jack O'Connell, and Michelle Dockery.

The plot of the story is about Frank Griffin (Jeff Daniels), a notorious outlaw on a mission to find and eliminate a former friend. Set in the Old West during the 1880s in New Mexico, Griffin sets out to find Roy Goode (Jack O'Connell) who is a former member of his gang. In his mission to get rid of Goode, Griffin finds himself in a small and peaceful town called La Belle with only women living in it.

All seven episodes of season 1 were released on Nov. 22. According to reports, the first season was able to manage a good start, and that a second season is still possible. And despite some elements lacking in the series, the creators were able to maximize the narrative with an outstanding cast members.

The first season ended with Goode shooting Griffin from point blank range and then killing him. The town of La Belle was also burned to the ground.

According to Refinery29, the build-up of the story is all about Griffin. However, after watching the entire season, the publication indicated that the story of "Godless" is really all about Goode and the decisions he makes concerning his loved ones.

"Godless" received an 91 percent rating from Rotten Tomatoes, 77 percent from Metacritic, and 4 out of 5 score from Den of Geek.

There are still no updates from the creators or Netflix if the series will be renewed for season 2. During an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, actor Thomas Sangster who portrays Deputy Whitey said season 1 was a success, but thinks the show should remain a limited engagement. "For me, unless they do something amazing with the writing and as long as it's appropriate, I think it's nice to actually have a Netflix show that comes out like this where you have the beginning, middle and end."
