Season 2 of the animated series "Dies Irae" by Genco has already been confirmed for 2018. The confirmation for the second season came ahead the release of season 1's final episode.

The first season is composed of 12 episodes in total with the final episode to be released next. The last episode is expected to be released on Dec. 22.

The final episode is technically the 12th episode, but the anime started numbering the episodes from 0. According to reports, season 2 of the anime series will be released on July 13, 2018 online and as a Blu-Ray box set.

A.C.G.T will once again release all episodes for season 2. There are still no updates from Genco or A.C.G.T about the plotline of the second season and if there will be new characters to be added. Unlike the first season, the second season will release six OVA episodes. To recall, it was announced back in November that the anime will be composed of 18 episodes in total, but it was not indicated that the show will be divided into two seasons.

No new updates from the anime's producers if a third season is on the horizon or if the anime will end with season 2. Fans are also looking forward to the anime to be uploaded on the online video streaming website Netflix.

The anime based on Light's visual novel and animated by A.C.G.T. received fairly good reviews from critics. "Dies Irae" got a 5.5 out of 10 score from My Anime List and 6.7 out of 10 from IMDb.

The game received mixed reviews from viewers. Half of the feedback centers on the story of the series, saying that it is hard to follow and that the execution is not flawless. On the other hand, some viewers point out that the synopsis is well-thought out.
