Superhero movie "Justice League" is DC's last hurrah in 2017. The movie received mixed reviews from fans and critics. However, DC is looking forward to 2018 and 2019 with a new lineup of superhero movies inspired by DC comics.

DC will be releasing solo superhero movies in 2018 and 2019. There are still no news from DC about the sequel to "Justice League."

Only one movie had been confirmed so far for 2018, "Aquaman." The protector of Atlantis will hit the big screen with his own DC film starring Jason Momoa. The movie is scheduled to be released on Dec. 21, 2018 and will include stars like Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, and Amber Heard. No plot summary or information about "Aquaman" has been released so far.

During an interview with The Herald Sun, Momoa said he is excited for "Aquaman" and that "Justice League" is just the beginning. "When people are done watching Justice League, they're going to want to see his (Aquaman) world," Momoa said. The former "Game of Thrones" actor is also looking forward to playing with talented people from the "Conjuring" film series, Director James Wan and Wilson.

Next DC movie is "Shazam." Actor Zachary Levi announced via Instagram that he was cast to play the role as Shazam or Captain Marvel. There are no further details about the cast members of "Shazam" that is scheduled to hit theaters on Apr. 5, 2019.

Israeli actress Gal Gadot will reprise her role as Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, in the sequel movie of "Wonder Woman." DC's "Wonder Woman 2" will premiere on Nov. 1, 2019. The first movie this year received impressive ratings from movie critics. "Wonder Woman" got a 92 percent rating from Rotten Tomatoes, 7.6 out of 10 from IMDb, and 76 percent from Metacritic.

More news and announcements on upcoming DC movies should arrive soon.
