Stars of the upcoming musical film "Pitch Perfect 3" collaborated with "The Voice" to release an acapella mashup track. The Barden Bellas sang with the "The Voice's" top 12 competitors. The mashup was a combination of George Michael's pop single "Freedom" and "Cups" from the official soundtrack of "Pitch Perfect."
The music video of the mashup track was recently uploaded on YouTube. "Pitch Perfect 3's" main character Beca (Anna Kendrick) was joined with other Bellas like Chloe (Brittany Snow), Aubrey (Anna Camp), Emily (Hailee Steinfeld), Cynthia (Ester Dean), Lilly (Hana Mae Lee), and a couple more.
All the performers in the video all wore the color black, and the song was praised by fans of both the movie and the competition series. Fan-favorite character Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) is not singing in the video, but she did conclude it with the statement, "Crushed it."
Several entertainment publications and outlets were amazed by the song and the music video.
The movie "Pitch Perfect 3" will premiere on Dec. 22. The Bellas will be taking the competition to a worldwide level in the third installment to the musical film series. The movie will also feature musical instruments instead of centering on acapella-style singing. The film will also welcome new characters including renowned record producer Dj Khaled. Actress and producer Elizabeth Banks will also return in the third "Pitch Perfect" movie.
Season 13 of "The Voice" is now down to only 11 contestants after the elimination of Jon Mero. The member of the Adam Levine team was voted off by viewers after his last performance on the show. Mero and Adam Cunningham of Team Miley were at the bottom 2 and had to save themselves from elimination. According to BuddyTv, Mero's elimination was not a total shock to the lacking performance of the singer.
Episode 20 of the 13th season will air on Nov. 27 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
