'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3': PS4 multiplayer beta starting August 19

U.S.-based video game developer Treyarch Studios recently unveiled its plans to release the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" multiplayer beta exclusively for the PlayStation 4 (PS4) game console next month. Reports say that PS4 players will have a chance to play the beta for up to five days only, from August 19-23.

Last month, it was revealed that Treyarch has partnered with Sony Computer Entertainment on a PS4 exclusivity deal that will make the new "Black Ops 3" video game available initially on the PS4 platform. The move comes after an exclusivity deal for the Xbox One game console with Microsoft.

Product Reviews reports that the "Black Ops 3" beta for the Xbox One game console could be available possibly starting on August 25, followed by the release of the PC version. However, nothing has been confirmed yet in regard to the release date.

Also, a new trailer was recently unveiled and uploaded via the "Call of Duty" channel on Youtube showing "The Giant" Zombies bonus map, which is expected to be available in all of the "Black Ops 3"'s Collector's Editions, according to reports.

In addition, those who pre-ordered the "Black Ops 3" game will have access to the multiplayer beta including extra in-game items, according to a report.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" is a sequel to the previous "Black Ops 2" video game and is expected to be officially released for PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox devices.

Last month, it was also revealed that video game developer firm Beenox from Québec, Canada and Mercenary Technology are working together on the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the new "Black Ops 3" video game.
