Nintendo's fighting video game "Arms" concluded 2017 with the 5.0 update and a new character. The 5.0 version is now live, and Nintendo has announced that from now on, the game will only be receiving balance patches.

Nintendo UK made the announcement for the 5.0 via Twitter patch on Dec. 21. On the same day, Nintendo released the introduction video to the game's last new character, the evil Dr. Coyle. According to Nintendo, Dr. Coyle is also called the Empress of the Lab. Nintedo also gave the nickname Strongest in Theory to Dr. Coyle. The new character comes with the Extra Arm fist as a charge attack and the stealth technique to allow Dr. Coyle sneak up on her opponent unseen. Dr. Coyle also has three arms in total, the Hyunchaku, Parralelizer, and the Hand Lock.

For the past few months, Nintendo has added a total of three characters, and Dr. Coyle is the last one. Before the evil doctor, the attacker and the defender Lola Pop and the Spiritual Fighter Misango were added.

The 5.0 update is the last major patch for the video game. According to the Arms' team, "As a big update, this time will be the last update. Of course we'll continue tuning game balance, so please continue to enjoy Arms, which is we have filled with so many lively characters up to this point."

"Arms" was released back on June 16, 2017. The Nintendo Switch exclusive video game received impressive score ratings from video game experts. "Arms" got an 8 out of 10 score from IGN, and 77 percent from Metacritic.

The extended-arm boxing video game was applauded for its variety of character and exciting gameplay function. The game was also praised for the different fist or arms technique present in each character. Several people indicate that "Arms" is as exciting as another Nintendo Switch exclusive video game, "Splatoon 2."
