Google just rolled out the new Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS update, but users are already complaining about the new-found bugs and issues in Nexus 7 and 9 tablets. Users posted their complaints on the product forums in Google's website.
According to users, the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS update was supposed to put an end to all bugs that plague the operating system. Below are the following bugs found in the latest Android update:
1. Wi-Fi issues – A number of users said that they are unable to connect to their wireless networks after installing the new Android OS update. Although some users were able to resolve the issue by forgetting the Wi-Fi network and adding it back again, others were unable to fix the bug.
2. Installation issues – Another issue that emerged from downloading the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS has something to do with installation. Some Nexus owners who downloaded the update over-the-air discovered that nothing happens when they try to install it. Users have been unable to resolve the issue despite troubleshooting it.
3. Audio issues – The Android 5.0.1 Lollipop also reportedly brought bugs that disrupt the audio and home button features of the Nexus devices. Some users said that they were unable to hear any sound from their device, including notification, alerts, and music.
4. Home Button bug – A Nexus 7 user posted that the update broke the Home button in the Navigation Bar. According to the user, the button responds when tapped but nothing happens. This particular issue can be resolved by doing a factory reset or by downloading the My Home Button app.
According to reports, the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS update is currently rolling out to Nexus 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10 as well as to Google Play Edition of Moto G, Moto X (2014), and HTC One M8. Samsung Galaxy S4 GPE is also reported to receive the aforementioned update.
The system update states that the 5.0.1 version of the Android is now available over-the-air, but users will not receive the update at the same time as Google will deliver the update in phases. This will allow Google to fix the errors and issues that arise in the new update before the majority of users receive it.
Meanwhile, Google has not commented on the issues yet and has not disclosed the release of another Android update.
