'Worldwide Evangelism for Christ' May Day: "Exploring Mission around the World"

The 3rd of May is the WEC (Worldwide Evangelisation for Christ) May Day 2004. It represents a fantastic opportunity to learn about what God is doing around the world. On that day, Bulstrode, the beating heart of WEC's worldwide ministry will be opened for visit. The house is bursting with diversity as it plays host to both long term and short term workers from all over the world.

A number of seminars are scheduled at different time slots. Respectable speakers include Brother Yun of 'Back Jerusalem Movement', WEC UK Director Stewart Moulds, and Academic Dean of All Nations Christian College Dr. David Burnett.

Brother Yun from China, author of The Heavenly Man which was voted ‘Book of the Year’ in 2003, will be speaking for the seminar “Through the Fire”. The theme is Chinese house churches, which are transforming the atheists in China to a nation of disciples. Brother Yun will have his mission tour in UK starting from 30 April to 9 May and it is precious that he is able to attend this occasion.

WEC Director, Stewart Moulds will address the development and vision of WEC. He will also discuss the amazing revival in Christianity which has occurred in Korea to inspire the mission in UK.

Dr. David Burnett’s seminar, “Buddhism in Britain Today “ will help attendants to understand the impact and growth of this religion in the UK.

WEC International is founded in England by Mr. C. T. Studd, an English cricketer. He worked as a missionary in China and India. He had gone out to China as part of the Cambridge Seven, a group that had hit the headlines in Edwardian England as society men who turned their backs on lives of privilege to go and preach Christ in inland China. But one night he saw a meeting advertised with the words ‘Cannibals want missionaries’. As a result C T Studd sailed for Africa, on the journey, God spoke to him: ‘This journey is not for the heart of Africa only, but for the whole unevangelised world.’ Since then, he developed a worldwide fellowship of workers under the umbrella of WEC International, which numbers about 2000 people from all parts of the globe today.

Bulstrode is worth a visit, whether to grasp the core values of WEC as an organisation, to soak up the beauty of the grounds and the peacefulness of the site, or more importantly to engage with the nature of the WEC family.
