The Following season 2 finale "Forgive" [FOX]: Show renewed for season 3

The season two finale of "The Following" will air tonight on Fox.

In tonight's season finale, Joe (James Purefoy) will be working with his nemesis Ryan (Kevin Bacon) to save the woman they both love – Claire (Natalie Zea).

The official synopsis of "The Following" season 2 "Forgive" is as follows: Mark and Luke turn the tables on both Ryan Hardy and Joe Carroll, forcing the two sworn enemies to come together to save the woman they love.

Purefoy dished on the finale episode in a recent interview with Hollywood Reporter. He said, "If all the other episodes are going up to 10, then this really goes up to 11. You just don't know what's going to happen and the stakes are very, very high."

"The Following" season 2 finale, "Forgive," will air Monday, April 28, at 9 p.m. ET on FOX. If you miss tonight's episode, it will be available to watch online via live stream on Fox.com and Amazon Instant Video.

Created by Kevin Williamson, "The Following" revolves around an FBI agent trying to catch a serial killer and his cult.

The hit show has been renewed for a third season by Fox on March 7, 2014.
