Earlier this month, the new 1.0.9 update was released by Japanese game giant Nintendo for the "Super Smash Bros. 4" video game, also known officially as the "Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U." The update was released specifically for the Wii U game platform.

"Super Smash Bros. 4" was released in September of last year for the Nintendo 3DS game console in Japan, and later in October in North America and other regions. For the Wii U game console, it was released globally the following month.

The fourth installment of the popular "Super Smash Bros." game series was developed by Japanese developers Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. (BNEI) and Sora Ltd.

Master Herald reports that the recently released update makes some adjustments to the "Super Smash Bros. 4" experience, and improves the game's online multiplayer features. The report adds that installation of the new update is required after downloading the current game for the Wii U platform.

The first update for the "Super Smash Bros. 4" video game came last year in November, and since then a total of nine updates have been released by Nintendo.

The previous 1.0.8 update was released last July 14, providing the new Miiverse stage found in the Smash mode.

"Super Smash Bros. 4" for Wii U has been successful according to reviews and was one of the highest reviewed games last year, according to a report. Game Revolution said, "It's true that Super Smash Bros. evolves every time with regard to new features, items, and characters to choose from."

"While your favorite character may not return or a few annoying pickups may force you to turn off items altogether, this represents the biggest leap forward Smashers have seen yet," Game Revolution added.
