'Speechless' spoilers: Dylan and JJ to work together to get a family dog

On the next episode of the family comedy series "Speechless," Dylan (Kyla Kenedy) dives into her plan of asking for a family dog, and he asks for JJ's (Micah Fowler) help in doing so. In order to give something back, Dylan takes a vow of silence to experience what it is like to walk in his brother's shoes.

Episode 10 of the second season will air on Dec. 13 at 8:30 p.m. EST on ABC. The next episode is titled "S-I- SILENT N-I—NIGHT." The episode will focus on three story angles. First, Dylan asks her parents, Maya (Minnie Driver) and Jimmy (John Ross Bowie), for a dog. Dylan then leverages JJ into getting the dog she wants.

Next, Ray (Mason Cook) arranges a meeting between Maya and her girlfriend's mother so the two can get to know each other. However, Ray and his girlfriend Taylor (Sedona James) discover that the two happen to have a history.

Finally, Kenneth (Cedric Yarbrough) is dragged by Jimmy into a supermarket contest promo to win a free Christmas turkey. According to the episode description, Jimmy drives Kenneth crazy in his attempt to win.

Episode 10 features television star Sarah Chalke and of course Jonathan Slavin as Mr. Powers.

There are still no information about the 11<sup>th episode and its plotline.

In the previous episode, American filmmaker Kevin Smith made a short cameo to help Ray get into the premiere of the "Star Wars: The Last Jedi."

Based on online reviews from critics, the ABC television series is doing well. The series received a perfect score of 5 from Common Sense Media. "Speechless" also got impressive scores of 7.7 out of 10 from IMDb, and a 79 percent rate from Metacritic. Based on comments, the ensemble of the series brings a unique and effective chemistry to viewers.

"Speechless" season 2 episode 10 airs on Dec. 13 at 8:30 p.m. EST on ABC.
