The Sony Xperia M5 will sport a 5-inch IPS LCD display screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution (441ppi pixel density). On the other hand, the Xperia C5 Ultra will sport a larger 6-inch IPS LCD display screen with the same resolution quality as the C5, but with a 367ppi pixel density.

Both new phones will run on the same Android 5.0 Lollipop (OS) operating system, but the C5 Ultra will come with Sony's Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 on top. The C5 Ultra will be powered by a Mediatek MT6752 octa-core processor, a 2GB RAM, and up to 16GB internal memory storage.

On the other hand, the Xperia M5 packs a Mediatek MT6795 octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, and the same 16GB built-in memory. Both internal memories can be expanded up to a whopping 200GB via microSD cards.

The C5 Ultra has two 13-megapixel cameras on both sides, while the M5 comes with a stronger 21.5-megapixel primary camera and a 13-megapixel front-facing shooter as well.

The C5 Ultra packs a non-removable 2,930 mAh battery, and the M5 has a smaller non-removable 2,600 mAh battery. According to GSM Arena, the C5 Ultra will be available in black, white, and mint colors. Meanwhile, the M5 will be available in black, white, and gold colors.

Another new handset by Sony, called the Xperia Z5, is expected to arrive in the market this year as well. Reports say the Xperia Z5 will be unveiled alongside the Z5 Compact during the upcoming IFA 2015 event in Germany.
