Sherlock season 3: Episode 1 teaser trailer, "The Empty Hearse" premiere date October 31? [VIDEO]

Sherlock season 3 is expected to release later this fall or early 2014, with latest rumors suggesting an October 31 premiere date. The date for the season 3 premiere of the hit show was listed on IMDB, but the show's producer, Sue Vertue, confirmed that the date is just a 'place-holder' and not confirmed.

The season 2 finale of the series ended with Sherlock Holmes presumed dead, and the new title leaves fans wondering what happens to the detective.

A teaser trailer was also released last month, which shows actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Sherlock Holmes, appearing to some of his friends in a 30-second clip.
