It is official -- word puzzle video game "Scribblenauts Showdown" is coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in March. Warner Bros. teased fans with a short trailer on what to expect in March.
"Scribblenauts Showdown" is the latest addition to the emergent puzzle video game series developed by Shiver Entertainment and to be published by Warner Bros. Games. The title brings cartoon violence and crude and raw humor to the table of gaming experience.
"Scribblenauts Showdown" features a variety of mini-games categorized by a selection of actions, characters, and words. Players can engage in different activities presented as mini-games like eating tourneys, racing, fishing, and delivery tasks with the use of drones. The character creation feature also brings hundreds of new costumes, accessories, and vehicles for gamers to choose from. One of the best content platforms of the game is the Sandbox Mode wherein one or two players search for hidden items and solve puzzles using their own imaginations. The game of course also offers a Solo Mode gameplay.
The official announcement trailer of the video game caused excitement among gamers. The video focuses on the iconic hand game Rock-Paper-Scissors, only this time, players are able to use anything they can imagine as their weapon. The video starts with a good Rock-Paper-Scissors routine. However, the female avatar brings out a flamethrower after thet other competitor defeats her rock. The boy then retaliates with a Dalmatian fireman carrying a bucket to destroy the flamethrower. The girl then attacks with a banana, and the boy responds with a monkey on a tree. The female character claims victory with a chainsaw cutting down the tree and the monkey with it.
People and video game critics who saw the trailer said the teaser only scratched the surface of "Scribblenauts Showdown" and that more is in store. The title is coming to North America on Mar. 6 and Mar. 9 in Europe.
Gamers can already pre-order the game for the Nintendo Switch console from Amazon and GameStop for $39.99.
