Cristina Yang leaving Grey's Anatomy: Sandra Oh to exit show in final episodes; "Farewell" special set for Season 10 Ep 21 "Change of Heart" [Video]

One of TV's greatest characters in medical hit drama "Grey's Anatomy" is set to exit the show this season.

Dr. Cristina Yang, played by actress Sandra Oh, will be leaving "Grey's Anatomy" at the end of season 10.

This week's episode, and the following two episodes will mark her last appearances on the show.

The show is already beginning its farewell to Cristina Yang, with this week's episode dedicated to her exit in "Farewell to Cristina."

A promo video for "Grey's Anatomy" season 10 episode 21 titled "Change of Heart" states: "Be there to see how Cristina's journey ends.. her final unforgettable episodes."

The synopsis is as follows: "The Jackson is given the daunting task of delivering disappointing news to the doctors. Meanwhile, Derek's sister Amelia drops by for a surprise visit, Richard surprises Catherine in Boston and when Bailey gets frustrated by the slow pace of her research, she makes a risky decision on "Grey's Anatomy.""

Rumors as to how Cristina Yang will leave the show hint that her ex-husband Dr Preston Burke (Isaiah Washington), will play a major role, and that the will be making a guest appearance in next week's episode to reprise his role.

Meanwhile, fans know that Yang's ex husband Preston Burke will play a major role in her exit. Actor Isaiah Washington will reprise his role as Doctor Burke and will make a return on episode airing on May 1.

Last week's episode, "Go It Alone," did not see Cristina Yang win the coveted Harper Avery award.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 10 Episode 21 "Change of Heart" will be airing Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 9 pm on ABC.
