Samsung Gear S2 vs. LG Watch Urbane specs: What's the difference?

According to recent reports, South Korean giant Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. plans to unveil its latest smartwatch, the Gear S2, during the upcoming IFA 2015 event in Berlin, Germany. LG Electronics Inc., on the other hand, unveiled and released its LG Watch Urbane back in March. Here's the difference between the two devices in terms of the specifications.

Unlike its predecessor, Samsung's Gear S2 will sport a circular screen that comes with a Super AMOLED display and a 360 x 360 pixel resolution. As for the LG Urbane, it features a round screen with a 1.3-inch P-OLED display and a 320 x 320 pixel resolution, which is the company's highest resolution quality to date.

The Gear 2 is expected to run on the company's own Tizen operating system (OS), while LG's recently released Urbane smartwatch runs on the Android Wear.

The upcoming Samsung smartwatch will reportedly pack an Exynos processor, a larger 768 MB RAM, up to 4 GB internal memory, and a 250 mAh battery. As for the LG Urbane, inside, this watch has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 512 MB of RAM, up to 4 GB built-in memory storage, and a massive 410 mAh battery.

According to a recent article by Digital Spy, the Gear S2 will also come with a rotating bezel that acts as a way for scrolling through the menu and apps. In addition, it will be user-friendly and is suitable for fitness enthusiasts. Digital Spy adds that another interesting feature of the Gear S2 will be the "S-Voice," which is similar to Apple's Siri.

Many anticipate that Samsung will unveil more details about the Gear S2 during the upcoming IFA 2015 event, which will take place on Sept. 4–9.
