New reports are saying that the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 device might be coming out soon earlier than previously expected.

Is the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 thinner than this Galaxy Tab S? Samsung

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S which was released last year in July.

A recent report by Tech Radar suggested that the new device might be announced this month, but other than that, the release date still remains unknown.

Reports also say the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 might take on Apple's iPad Air 2, as the new device is expected to come with a similar size.

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is expected to come in a thin body and will be available in two different sizes, an 8 inch display screen model and a 9.7 inch display screen model, both with 1536 x 2048 resolutions, according to reports. New images of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 have also been leaked online earlier this month by nowhereelse.fr, giving a glimpse of the design.

In terms of the specs, Vine Report reported that the new tablets will have a 2.1 mega pixel front-facing camera and an 8 mega pixel rear camera. It will be powered by a quad core processor along with 3 GB worth of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory storage. Digital Trends reported that the new tablets will run on the Android 5.0.2 operating system.

No exact release date has been confirmed yet, but Vine Report suggested it will launch globally before the end of this year.

The South Korean tech giant just released the new Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 selfie-centric devices that come with front-facing LED flashes. The new mid-range smartphones were reportedly released in China, after the company's recent launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab E in the Indian market.
