Samsung Galaxy Tab E specs, features: new mid-range tablet launches

Samsung Electronics just launched a new mid-range tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab E, in India and Taiwan, according to reports. The new Samsung Galaxy Tab E was also released in India alongside another device, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A.

GSM Arena reported that the new Samsung Galaxy Tab E will also be available to other markets in the future. A recent report says the move by the South Korean giant aims at improving itself in the tablet business, taking on the likes of Apple and Lenovo.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab E sports a 9.6 inch TFT display screen with an 800 x 1280 resolution. The new tablet runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat version operating system and comes with a 5 mega pixel camera on the back and a 2 mega pixel camera on the front.

Under the hood, the new Samsung Galaxy Tab E is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad core CPU along with 1.5 GB worth of RAM, and a non-removable 5000 mAh battery. It offers users 8 GB internal memory space that can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab E measures 8.5 mm in thickness, according to a report, and weighs about 490 to 495 grams. The colors available in the market include metallic black and pearl white.

A high-end tablet by the South Korean giant, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, is also expected to be released sometime within this year. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is the successor to the previous Samsung Galaxy Tab S which was released in 2014.

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 offers high-end specs such as an 8 inch and 9.7 inch display screens with 1536 x 2048 resolutions. Internally, it will have 3 GB RAM along with 32 GB internal memory, and is expected to run on the Android 5.0 operating system.
