In terms of the specs and features, what does the new Samsung Galaxy S6 Active offer in comparison with last year's Samsung Galaxy S5 Active?

Both Samsung phones sport 5.1 inch Super AMOLED display screens, but while the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active comes with a 1080 x 1920 resolution and is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the new Samsung Galaxy S6 Active comes with a 1440 x 2560 resolution and is protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

On top of that, the new Galaxy S6 Active is IP68 certified, which means it can be soaked in water up to 1.5 meters deep for about thirty minutes. The Galaxy S5 Active is IP67 certified.

The new Galaxy S6 Active has a 16 mega pixel rear camera and a 5 mega pixel front-facing camera. The Galaxy S5 Active has the same pixel quality camera on the back, but with only 2 mega pixel camera on the front.

Under the hood, the S6 Active works with Samsung's own Exynos 7420 processor along with a large 3 GB RAM and 32 GB worth of internal memory storage. The S5 Active comes with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801, along with only 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory, which offers only 11.2 GB space for users, according to GSM Arena.

The Galaxy S5 Active can be expanded though up to 128 GB via microSD card, while the new Galaxy S6 Active doesn't come with a memory card slot. The new S6 Active device is also lighter than the previous model, weighing about 150 grams only.

The new Samsung Galaxy S6 Active also offers users longer battery life with its whopping 3500 mAh battery. The S5 Active has a 2800 mAh battery. In addition to the specs, the new S6 Active smartphone also comes with the Activity Zone feature.
