Samsung Galaxy J2 2018 news: Russian retailer reveals price tag of the J2 2018

A Russian retailer posted new specification details for the Samsung Galaxy J2 2018 edition including its price rate. Consumers are hoping for Samsung to announce the release date of the product before 2018 enters.

According to BeCompact.ru, the J2 2018 will function with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC and will sport a 5-inch 960 x 540 pixels Super AMOLED display. These specs were presented in previous leak reports. The price rate according to the Russian website, however, differs from the price tag presented by other reports. The website reveals that the product can be purchased for RUB 7,990 equivalent to $140.

The price rate of the 2018 edition is slighty higher compared to that of the previous one. The retail price of the Galaxy J2 2017 was Rs. 6990 or $110.

The smartphone also has a 1.4 GHz CPU and 1.5 GB of RAM. The built-in storage of the 2018 edition was also upgraded to 16 GB compared to the 8 GB of the J2 2017. Consumers can also upgrade the storage with a microSD card. The item description released by BeCompact does not include any information if the 2018 edition will introduce new features.

The soon-to-be released smartphone packs a 2600 mAh battery and weighs about 153 grams. The Galaxy J2 2018 will also be available in two colors -- black and gold. There are no further updates if the product will be manufactured in other colors.

Samsung is yet to announce the official release date of the product, and Samsung fans are hoping for the announcement to be made before 2017 ends.

The coming year is a big one for Samsung with the company set to release new products. Other than the Galaxy J2 2018 edition, Samsung will also be releasing the anticipated Samsung Galaxy S9. It was confirmed that the S9 will be functional with a Snapdragon 845 chipset. The S9 will also be the fist smartphone to support a 512-GB Universal Flash Storage. The J2 Pro 2018 is also expected to hit stores nationwide next year.
