Pretty Little Liars season 5 will be premiering Tuesday evening on ABC Family.

The hit ABC drama will be returning with its first episode of the season at 8 a.m. ET and will be available to watch online via live stream on ABC.

The official synopsis for Pretty Little Liars season 5 episode 1 titled "Whirly Girl" is as follows:

"With the events of New York behind them and back in Rosewood, the Liars are unsettled to still be living under a cloud of secrets. Aria is haunted by the recent past events, while Emily, Hanna and Spencer try to wrap their head around the new normal. Alison, on the other hand, is still sleeping with one eye open as she is forced to stay at home with her family – who she doesn't trust. Meanwhile, Jason's odd behavior and Kenneth DiLaurentis' search for Jessica starts to raise eyebrows about her disappearance."

The season 4 finale ended in a cliffhanger with Ezra being shot by 'A.' Whether he survived the shot is yet to be seen.

A's identity is set to be revealed this season ,with some fans speculating that it could be Allison's twin sister.

Show creator Marlene King revealed some spoilers for the new season.

"Next season, it really is all about Ali coming back," King told Hollywood Life. "Has she changed? Can we trust her? How does her being back affect the liars, and affect their friendship, their dynamic and their relationships with boys and girls so it's going to be fun."
