Niantic Labs is yet to announce the full content of the Christmas event update for its augmented reality video game "Pokemon GO." Speculations indicate that the event will go live on Christmas day just like last year.

The 2016 event included free incubators, Christmas Pikachus, higher hatch rate, and in-store discounts.

According to Pokemon GO Hub, Niantic Labs will add new EX Raid battles along with the upcoming Christmas event. The report says the video game company will send out Ex Raid invites on Dec. 25. The article did mention the possibility of Delibird being part of the EX raids. However, no confirmation has been made by Niantic Labs.

Delibird is a second-generation Pokemon from the Johto region. Delibird is an ice-type Pokemon that makes it perfect for the anticipated Christmas event.

There are few speculations to be included in the 2017 Christmas Event. Reports suggest that the Pikachu hat is a sure thing for this year's event and indicates that the game might highlight a certain type of Pokemon, most probably Icy-type Pokemon to go along with the cold weather of the holiday.

With no official launch date, there are few speculations that the event might come on a little earlier this year. Some reports say the Christmas event might commence on Dec. 22.

There are also some theories about a new Legendary Pokemon raid. Niantic Labs has been keeping players busy with a chain of Legendary Pokemon like Ho-Oh and Groudon.

Niantic Labs recently launched the latest version of the game that brings 50 new third-generation Pokemon and the new Dynamic Weather function. Players who reside in areas that experience snow yearly will also experience it on the game.

"Pokemon GO" remains one of the most-played AR application games in the world. The game received an impressive score of 7 out of 10 from IGN.
