Campus Crusade for Christ's Aim to Bring Jesus to the World Cup

As thousands of European police arrived in Berlin and thousands of soccer fans have clicked on the Church of England Internet site for prayers, the Christian Evangelical Ministries are preparing many resources for this year's biggest sporting event - the World Cup - this Friday.

|PIC1|With millions expected to fill the streets of Germany and millions more watching the soccer tournament on television, Campus Crusade for Christ has begun an evangelistic campaign with a number of resources already out and more outreach projects underway.

A new DVD called "The Prize - Quest for the Ultimate Goal," produced by CCC's sports ministry Athletes in Action, features interviews with such soccer greats as Brazil's Edmilson, Lucio and Ze Roberto, Korea's Lee Young Pyo, Cote d'Ivoire's Cyrille Domoraud and Tim Howard from the U.S. and Manchester United. The players share their stories of victories and losses along with the importance of their faith in Jesus more than the game of soccer. More about Atheletes in Action can be found by clicking here

In conjunction with the four stories of the players' who relive their highs and lows, CCC's media ministry Global Media Outreach recently launched an evangelistic website (www.jesusandtheworldcup.com) to direct soccer fans to the joy of knowing God.

|QUOTE|After launching websites on the most popularly talked-about novel and movie, "The Da Vinci Code," Global Media Outreach has now put out a site with commonly searched for terms "Jesus" and "World Cup" to tell others of the one source of peace and joy.

"If soccer is your source of happiness, then your life can go up and down," stated the website. "There is just one source of peace and joy that doesn’t change - and that is God."

During the 2006 Fifa World Cup, which will take place June 9 to July 9, international prayer networks, churches and ministries all over the world will be in prayer for the spiritual transformation of Germany, the security of the event, and the international evangelistic outreach.
