Nokia 2 smartphone boasts massive 4,100 mAh battery for very affordable price

HMD Global has announced a new Nokia phone that fulfills very specific needs that many consumers have. The Nokia 2 is a very affordable smartphone that runs pure Android Nougat and packs a massive 4,100 mAh battery.

The smartphone is an entry-level one with a price that would be very attractive to many users. It is priced at $115, which is a steal for a smartphone.

The new phone features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 for its processor, and a 5-inch LCD display with a 1280 by 720 pixels resolution. It also sports an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front sensor. The built-in storage of the phone is quite limited at 8 GB, but it can be expanded to up to 128 GB using a micro SD card.

According to Juho Sarvikas, chief product officer at HMD Global, the phone's components are designed to make its already huge battery last even longer. "Every component of the Nokia 2 — from the display to battery, chipset to system design — has been engineered to draw as little power as possible from the huge battery," said Sarvikas.

With its massive battery, HMD Global claims that a single charge of the Nokia 2 will last for two days. This, as well as its low retail price, will be the main draw for getting the phone.

Another nice inclusion in the Nokia 2 is the pure Android Nougat that it runs, just like other Nokia smartphones. The mobile operating system will also be upgradeable to Android Oreo in the future.

Being an entry-level phone, consumers should not expect the Nokia 2 to be able to handle resource intensive apps and games. Although its battery suggests extended periods of mobile gaming, the rest of the phone's components will offer limited performance.

Still, with its modern operating system and huge battery pack, the Nokia 2 is well worth its very affordable price tag.
