Nintendo Switch Emulator project for PC in motion

Gamers will soon enjoy the Nintendo Switch and all its glory without the console itself. The development team behind the Citra emulator of Nintendo 3DS is cooking up an emulator of Nintendo's latest console for PC.

The team will soon release the Yuzu Emulator to allow gamers play video game releases for the Switch like "Super Mario Odyssey" and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." The project was announced last Sunday via Twitter saying, "Announcing Yuzu, the first Nintendo Switch emulator that does all of the things you didn't need it to do! Stay tuned for more from the yuzu team."

The team did not provide any detailed information about the emulator and its exact date. The announcement sparked mixed reactions from netizens with others excited for the emulator, while others not so much. One user commented, "You guys should really wait awhile before releasing, let the console have a nice healthy life and library, then once everyone can reap the benefit once it's nearing the end of life. Releasing now will just hurt the platform."

The Nintendo Switch will soon celebrate its 1st anniversary after its release back in March 2017. The Switch is the seventh major video game console by Nintendo. A number of critically acclaimed video games are also only available for the Switch, such as "Super Mario Odyssey" and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." Both these games were The Game Awards recipients last year. The latest installment to the Mario video game series was recognized as the Best Family Game of 2017. "Breath of the Wild" received three awards including Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, and Best Action/Adventure Game.

Nintendo has not released any comments or statement about the Nintendo Switch emulator being developed.
