New Genetik Music Complex Launched

|PIC1|On Tuesday 13th June, a first class, million pound, dance, music and media complex named Genetik was opened in Greater Manchester in a spectacular showcase event.

The Message Trust, a Multi-award winning youth charity, which operates numerous projects in Greater Manchester, was thrilled to launch the new state-of-the-art complex. Genetik is set to provide the perfect environment for creativity and inspiration and can invest in a new generation of talented artists and musicians.

Live performances from groups such as Blush UK and LZ7 as well as some young artists from the Genetik courses gave an electrifying atmosphere to the event.

At the same time the Inside Out team, which is part of the Reflex programme that is operated by The Message Trust in Young Offenders’ Institutions, gave a short and thought-provoking sketch.

Prominent donors to the project, John and Rose Lancaster ended the event by cutting the ribbon and became the first to enter the complex and have a tour of the Genetik studios.

The Lancaster’s were responsible for funding the project which saw the transformation of a derelict old warehouse, behind the head office of The Message Trust, into the state-of-the-art centre that it is there now.

The complex offers the highest quality facilities for a broad range of innovative classes, short courses and themed workshops.

The Founder and Chief Executive of The Message Trust said: "We are really excited about Genetik and can’t wait for the new courses to begin. The building went under a massive transformation and now is packed with awesome dance and rehearsal rooms, as well as all the latest technology for recording and music production.

Genetik will be swarming with thousands of gifted artists and musicians in development over the next few years and we’re all really looking forward to raising the temperature with our fresh, cutting edge programmes!"

The Message Trust hopes to offer use of the facilities of Genetik to community and disability groups and allow them the chance to explore creative skills such as hip hop dance, break-dance, pop vocals, rapping/MCing and DJ skills.
