NBA trade news: Paul George speculated to stay with Thunders; Cavs looking to acquire George Hill from Sacramento

New NBA trade rumors involving the Oklahoma City Thunder, Cleveland Cavaliers, Sacramento Kings, and more are making headlines. The Cavs are hoping to acquire Kings' point guard George Hill for both scoring and defending.

The reports about Hill coming to the land are not consistent with some saying the deal is moving forward, while other suggests it is far from a done deal. According to reports, the Cavs are close to shaking hands with the Kings and that Iman Shumpert and Channing Frye are going in exchange for the 31-year-old guard.

The Cleveland.com, on the other hand, believes that the deal is far from completion and that the Cavaliers are looking to change the trading conditions. Hill is one of Sacramento's most efficient shooters and is averaging 10.3 points and shooting 44.8 from downtown. As a guard, Hill is also capable of playing both offense and defense, although he is a much more reliable shooter than a defender based on his current statistics.

Neither Sacramento nor Cleveland have provided any updates about the trade with the deadline closing in.

There are also new reports saying Paul George is most likely to stay with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the near future. The primary reason speculated for George wanting to stay with the Thunder is none other than the NBA 2016-2017 MVP Russell Westbrook.

During an interview with ESPN, George said, "Russ is the reason why this decision is becoming even more easier to make, is the character Russ has. A stand-up guy, and he has his teammate's back." George will have to deal with his first unrestricted free agency status ever this coming summer.

In other trade rumors with other teams, the Dallas Mavericks are open to trading small forward Wesley Matthews in exchange for first-round pics. Sports correspondent Marc Stein said via Twitter that the Mavericks are looking for a first-round pick to close the deal.
