Moto X 2015 release date: New leaked video, rumors and specs

Motorola's new successor to the Moto X 2014, which was released on September 5 last year, is expected to be launched possibly around August or September of this year, according to rumors.

The second generation Moto X 2014 has been very successful according to many reviewers, one of them calling it "The best Android smartphone ever made". Reviewers have commended the improved specifications and design of the phone including its software performance.

A new video that recently showed up on Youtube suggests the new Moto X 2015 smartphone will pack a 3GB worth of RAM and a 5.6 or 5.7 inch Quad High-Definition resolution display screen. This makes the new smartphone more powerful in terms of performance compared to its predecessor.

Motorola might be planning to launch two different versions of the handset with two different prices, as earlier rumors suggested the new Moto X will pack a 4GB worth of RAM.

The new Moto X 2015 smartphone will run on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system and might be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 808. It is possible that the new handset will come with Google's new Android M instead, since the new operating system is also expected to be launched this coming August or September.

The new Moto X smartphone may come with a 5 mega pixel front-facing camera and a powerful 16 mega pixel rear camera.

Rumors claim the new handset might hold a 32GB or 64GB internal memory, powered by a 3280 mAh battery. The recently released video on Youtube also shows the new Moto X smartphone being covered with a rear wood finish design, suggesting that the phone might come with several variants like its predecessor.

Phone Arena recently reported that the new Moto X handset won't come with a fingerprint scanning technology, as it was previously expected.
