The anticipated action role-playing video game "Monster Hunter: World" is finally here and already making waves in the video gaming industry. After its worldwide release on Jan. 26, "World" quickly generated praises and high ratings from gamers and video game critics.

Old and new elements presented in the title have all been well-received, especially the usual gameplay loop of hunting monsters for better gear in order to battle stronger monsters for even stronger gear. "Monster Hunter: World" got a near perfect score of 9.5 from IGN, a 9 from Polygon, and an impressive score rating of 91% from Metacritic.

The simplified crafting system was applauded by critics for giving gamers more time to hunt for monsters and loot materials. "World" has 14 different weapon classes utilized to overpower and defeat monsters with different attributes and abilities. The balance between enemy challenges and weapon complexity in the title is considered as one of the best across the entire video game franchise.

Many gamers and critics view enemy and world variety as well-thought and engaging. According to Trusted Reviews, Capcom really brought their A-game for "World" especially with an engaging lineup of monsters.

The storyline of "World" has also been given the thumbs up, unlike those of previous installments to the "Monster Hunter" franchise.

The video game series, however, received a slight backlash from gamers regarding its multiplayer system. The matchmaking function for Xbox One is also having some trouble, resulting to a number of negative reactions from gamers.

Still, "Monster Hunter: World" is considered to be the best one yet in the series and one of the best video game releases of 2017. There is still no news from Capcom if the company giant is planning additional contents for the title in the near future.
