Chinese smartphone maker Meizu and former world's top mobile phone manufacturer Nokia might be planning to team up and develop a new smartphone together, according to recent rumors.

The Finnish company announced last month that it intends to return to the smartphone scene and launch a new product that will be manufactured by a potential partner. However, the mobile company did not add whom it plans to partner with, but it did say it will launch the new devices sometime by the end of next year, after the deal with software giant Microsoft ends.

After the recent announcement by Nokia, that the Taiwanese manufacturer Foxconn might be planning to manufacture a new smartphone device with Nokia once again, as it did earlier, have surfaced.

Foxconn was the company responsible for manufacturing the new Nokia N1 tablet. The N1 tablet, which was unveiled in November 2014, commercially launched for the China market last January. The tablet has been successful according to an earlier report prompting Foxconn to develop a new one with Nokia and launch it in China, India and some European regions.

In regards to the partnership with Meizu, Phone Arena reports that the Chinese company had welcomed Nokia's return to the smartphone market via its Weibo account, and later tweeted last Thursday's date, along with the numbers "1110" under it.  Some have speculated that Meizu is planning to work with Nokia, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Also, earlier this year, it was revealed that Nokia had joined forces with Meizu on a new device called the MX4 Supreme, which will be another version of Meizu's MX4 model. Not much is known about this phone, but according to Softpedia, it was expected to run on the Android operating system and integrate with the Finnish company's PureView technology.
