Chinese electronics company Meizu Technology Co., Ltd. just released the Meizu MX4 smartphone last September 2014 in China, followed by the recent launch of the new Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition in the European market.
The Chinese company is now reportedly preparing to launch a new successor to the Meizu MX4 device sometime within this year, as Techno Buffalo reported that the new handset is expected to be announced in China on June 30.
Just days away from the announcement, specs and features of the new Meizu MX5 smartphone have already surfaced online. Reports have suggested that the new handset is expected to come in a metal body along with rounded edges, based on a source leaked by Chinese website Gizmo China.
Phone Arena added that the new Meizu MX5 smartphone will come with a technology, called "mCharge", that enables users to quickly charge the phone's battery up to 25 percent in just ten minutes. In addition to this technology, reports also say the new device will have a fingerprint scanning technology as well.
The new Meizu MX5 is expected to sport a 5.5 inch display screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution, a powerful 20 mega pixel rear camera and a 5 mega pixel front-facing camera. Under the hood, the new MX5 is expected to pack a 64-bit MediaTek MT6795T SoC processor and a whopping a 3150 mAh battery.
The MX5 will have 3 GB worth of RAM alongside an unmentioned built-in memory storage that can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card, according to multiple reports.
With these high-end specs, the Chinese company will definitely have what it takes to compete against the likes of its next door neighbors Huawei and Xiaomi, as the new Meizu MX5 handset is expected to cost about only US$290. In addition, reports say the phone will run on the latest Flyme 5.0 OS operating system, which is the company's own customized version of the Android operating system.
