Chinese company Meizu Technology Co., Ltd. released its MX4 smartphone in September last year, followed by the recent launch of its successor, the MX5, last July in China. Recently, the Meizu MX5 was launched in the Indian market, according to GSM Arena.

GSM Arena also reported that another new Meizu smartphone, called the MX5 Pro Plus, is expected to arrive sometime this year as well.

In terms of the specifications, the MX5 Pro Plus is expected to sport a phablet size 6-inch display screen that will come with a Quad HD pixel resolution. There are rumors saying that the MX5 Pro Plus will be available in two different sizes, with the other version sporting a smaller 5.5-inch display screen with the same Quad HD pixel resolution.

Inside, the Meizu MX5 is expected to pack Samsung's Exynos 7420 processor, which is the same as the one found in the recently released Samsung Galaxy Note 5 phablet. Based on an alleged leaked image of the phone that has circulated online, the MX5 Pro Plus appears to be an upgraded model of the MX5 Pro.

Recent rumors say the new phablet will come with a whopping 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera along with a massive 4,100 mAh battery. It is also anticipated to pack 4 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory storage.

Android Headlines reported that the MX5 Pro Plus could sport a fingerprint reader along with a home button. The smartphone is also anticipated to run on the new Android Lollipop version operating system (OS).

In terms of the price and availability, it's still unclear how much the new phablet will cost and when it is expected to come out.

As for the MX5 Pro, reports say the Chinese company might plan to skip this phone altogether. However, there has not been any confirmation yet.
