Kari Jobe thanks her mother Sandy for teaching her how to persevere through the storms

Kari Jobe thanks her mom for everything she taught her.

There are a lot of things Christian singer Kari Jobe's mother Sandy taught her, and in honour of Mother's Day, Jobe thanked her mother for shaping her up to be the person she is today.

On her Facebook page, Jobe wrote: "Happy Mother's Day to my sweet mom @sandyjobe. You are a gift to all of us. You portray the essence of a Godly woman."

According to Jobe, her mother taught her how to persevere in storms, laugh at her mistakes, eat dessert with every meal, celebrate her differences, be herself, not to get too serious, be real and authentic, and love with all of her heart.

"Goodness, without you I'd be a very different person. I love you so much. Thank you for being my mom," she simply said.

Jobe is one of the nominees for this year's K-LOVE Fan Awards, which will be held from May 29 to 31, 2015 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.

She will be going head to head with fellow Christian artists Natalie Grant, Francesca Battistelli, Mandisa, Jamie Grace, and Plumb for the title of Female Artist of the Year.

"I love all of these girls. They've each been instrumental in singing songs of breakthrough and joy into situations of my heart. What a fun night this will be at the K-LOVE Fan Awards to honor them and honor the gifts on their lives! Go vote for your favorites!" Jobe said.

And when people vote for their favourite artists, they will be contributing to society too since the K-LOVE Fan Awards has promised to build a family-style home for up to eight orphaned or abandoned children in Haiti, should they reach two million votes.

As for the Male Artist of the Year, the nominees are Crowder, Jeremy Camp, Chris Tomlin, Colton Dixon, Matthew West, and Steven Curtis Chapman.

Those vying for Artist of the Year are Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, For King & Country, MercyMe, Tobymac, and Newsboys.
